Melbourne’s Queen Victoria Market has cracked down on the sale of inauthentic Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander souvenir products, ahead of new laws which come into force next year. In August, the Productivity Commission found two in every three Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-style souvenirs sold in Australia are inauthentic, with no connection to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

TikTok will reportedly enter a partnership with TalkShopLive to launch its live shopping platform in North America, two people familiar with the matter told the Financial Times. The companies are still finalizing the arrangements and no contracts have been signed so far. TikTok’s live shopping platform is already operational in Asian markets including Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam as well as the U.K.

Dutch urban e-bike brand Lekker has opened its first flagship at the Albion Fine Trades precinct in Brisbane CBD. Found by Meindert Wolfraad in 2009, the company sells a range of premium electric bikes to urban commuters. Burberry has appointed Daniel Lee to the role of Chief Creative Officer starting Oct. 3, 2022. He will report to CEO Jonathan Akeroyd, who began leading the luxury brand in April 2022. Lee will replace former creative chief Riccardo Tisci , who was appointed to the role in March 2018 following his career with Givenchy from 2005 to 2017. Tisci’s departure was announced only days after the presentation of his Spring/Summer 2023 collection in London, which was his last for Burberry.

Construction on Queensland’s first ‘free supermarket’ has commenced at local charity Serving Our People’s Gold Coast headquarters. A compactor outside the doors of an Amazon.com warehouse in upstate New York caught fire on Wednesday night, forcing the company to send workers home and cancel the following shift “out of an abundance of caution,” according to company spokesperson Paul Flanagan.
