Yesway Opens 5 Allsup’s Stores in New Mexico and Texas

Convenience store chain Yesway is continuing its aggressive U.S. expansion by opening five new Allsups stores in New Mexico and Texas. In October 2024, the company announced the opening of eight new locations across New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas within a six -month period. These new stores each span 6,277 square feet and operate 24 hours a day, offering a variety of private label products, including fresh bread, milk and eggs, as well as Allsups famous burritos.

THG shareholders have voted in favour of its plan to spin off its loss-making Ingenuity ecommerce platforminto a separate company. Around 89% of investors backed the LookFantastic and MyProtein owners divestment of its technology arm at a valuation of 90m on Friday. Data: Almost 170,000 retail jobs lost in 2024

Retailers cut almost 170,000 jobs in 2024 during another challenging year on the British high street. Data from the Centre of Retail Research found that a total of 169,395 retail jobs have been lost so far this year a 42% jump on 2023 levels. It is the highest annual figure since 2020 when more than 200,000 jobs were lost as retailers were forced to shut their stores during the Covid lockdowns.
