Bunnings rebrands some stores under cartoon character banner

Home and lifestyle retailer Bunnings is collaborating with popular animated TV series Bluey to rebrand several of its stores in Australia and New Zealand. The rebrand, which affects six stores across all states in Australia and one store in New Zealand, is inspired by Hammerbarn – an episode from Season 2 of Bluey. In the episode, the Heeler family visit a local hardware store that resembles the Bunnings Keperra location in Queensland.

Zuber Issa looks to sell Asda stake amid brother rift rumours

Asda co-owner Zuber Issa is looking to sell his stake in the supermarket to focus on EG Group’s petrol station business. Issa has approached buyout specialists and retailers as he looks to offload his 22.5% stake in the grocer, The Telegraph reported. Zuber bought Asda, alongside brother Mohsin and private equity firm TDR Capital, in a £6.8bn deal in 2021.

Morrisons stores chief David Lepley resigns

Morrisons stores chief David Lepley has resigned from his role after eight years at the supermarket. Lepley, who joined Morrisons in 2016 from Asda, has spent the last four years as its group retail director. M&S attempted to poach Lepley in 2019 but he decided to remain at Morrisons as its operations director. It is unclear whether Lepley will be replaced, The Telegraph reported.
